5 Reasons to Switch to Office 365

Many companies are still debating when or whether to make the transition from Exchange to Office 365, while new companies are wondering what benefit they can get from Office 365 that they do not already have by using Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, etc.

Microsoft bills per user, not per system or per company. This means that, as the company expands, the costs are stable and scalable. Microsoft also provides a range of packages for teams that do not need the whole Office 365 experience, offering stripped down versions of Office apps or email only plans.

We will give you our top five reasons why we believe that Microsoft Office 365 is vital for any modern organization.

1. Online Inboxes with 50GB storage per user

You can access online Outlook mailboxes from any device, with 50 GB of mailbox storage available for every user. Additionally, Microsoft Office 365 facilitates…

  • Shared mailboxes (for instance, having the entire sales team sharing an inbox)
  • Out of office replies
  • Highly customisable mail flow rules
2. 1TB OneDrive Storage

Each user of Office 365 automatically has 1TB of cloud storage in OneDrive.

OneDrive facilitates the secure access of files from any machine, anywhere in the world. Files can also be shared among members of the team easily.

While some businesses try to save money by using free services, a busy organization will quickly find themselves running out of storage space. For example, free Google accounts only include 15GB of storage as standard.

3. SharePoint

You don’t just get access to a 50GB mailbox and 1TB of individual cloud storage, you will have access to SharePoint, a cloud storage platform that can replace most existing file systems on servers, which meaning that your servers can be decommissioned, saving cost and space (unless you run local applications that require databases).

SharePoint allows members of multiple teams to collaborate in real time on a project, no matter where they are in the world. You can also connect machines to Azure Active Directory to login to the service.

4. Cybersecurity

Advanced cybersecurity settings and multi-factor authentication help maintain the security of your files.

One of the biggest issues for any organization is the protection of their data in the cloud.

Microsoft is one of computing’s most known and trusted brands, and for over a decade they have been the leaders in cloud computing through their Azure platform. The cloud technology of Office 365 is mature, highly reliable, and frequently patched. This ensures that your business-critical information is kept secure.

5. Regular Updates and New Features

It is continuously updated and upgraded, as Office 365 is a subscription-based service. And we’re not just talking about security patches or adding new color options.  Microsoft will occasionally bring a whole new product to the suite of Office 365 apps. When Microsoft Teams was launched in 2017, for instance, Office 365 received it in an update at no added cost.

Office updates are automatic, distributed directly by Microsoft through the cloud, you never have to install them yourself, and they happen in the background with no downtime.

These are just 5 of the reasons why corporations are moving over to Microsoft Office 365.
